Hosted IP

Is it possible to have a static IP for our Paessler hosted instance? If so where can we find this info? We have remote sites where we need to monitor our public IP but our firewalls block icmp. We want to whitelist the Paessler IP if possible.

Hi there,

As long as your hosted instance exists (meaning it's not being cancelled or something like that), its current public IP remains the same and won't change. The IP of the hostname (xxxx.my-prtg.com) is where monitoring queries will also come from for devices added to "Hosted Probe". You can find it by either pinging the hostname or visiting the webinterface and then using a browser add-on like IP Address and Domain Information in Chrome for example to see the IP.

Kind regards,

Erhard
