Can PRTG receive email alerts from other sources?

Votes:

0

Hi, I have a few LAN's in my buidling that are physically separate so there's no interconnectivity whatsoever between them. PRTG is on a server on one of the LAN's.

Devices on the other LAN's have inbuilt email alerting so can PRTG receive these email alerts into the PRTG dashboard where I can see them, action them, respond to them?

Please let me know if you recommend a different workaround

Regards, Anansi

Hello Anansi,

Regarding your demand, you could use the IMAP sensor on the mail server which receives the emails from your devices, before processing them according to your needs.

Depending on the sensor result, you could then use notification triggers to execute specific actions. Here is the manual about the notifications templates in PRTG : https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/notifications_settings#methods

I also invite you to have a look at our Youtube video regarding this matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUsyEpPP8S4

You could also deploy remote probes in each LANs where the devices you want to monitor are. To do so, please follow the steps explained on our dedicated page : https://www.paessler.com/support/how-to/remote-probe-installation

If you have further questions, let us know.
Kind regards.
