Monitoring Huawei SFP Temperature

Hello!

I am trying to monitor the SFP temperature connected to a Huawei switch. I found the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.31.1.1.3.1.5 on this Huawei's site: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1000178167/94ef2802/displaying-optical-module-information

I was configuring this Custom SNMP Sensor but I keep getting the 223 error. Any idea of what may I be doing wrong?

Hello,

please use the SNMP Tester to get a read of that OID.

Alternatively, you can perform a 'Walk' on 1.3.6

If you don't get the OID in question with the tester, it is not supported by your device, or the SNMP agent is not setup properly. Please contact Huawei about the configuration.

You can also ask the vendor about MIB files for your device. Those MIBs then can be imported as OIDLIBs in PRTG.

In order to use those imported files, please add the SNMP Library sensor, during sensor creation then select the OIDLIB.

Hello!

I think I found what my problem is. Using the SNMP Tester, I was able to identify my SFP modules and their respective temperatures. But on my PRTG Network Monitor I wasn't. I believe the version I'm using now is the issue. I have a reminder to update it on my dashboard. I am asking the infra team to update the system to do more tests.

Thank you, Arne, for your reply. And thanks in advance for any more tips.
