Grouping errors by device group to only one alert

Hello!

For example: An office loses it's connection and all routers are not reachable anymore, then all devices behind the routers are not reachable, too. PRTG will create a fault for every sensor and so there will be a lot of alerting sensors. Is there a way, to detect that the whole group is DOWN and only show one sensor instead?

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

You can set dependencies in the devices and groups so that they get paused when a sensor goes into Down state. For example, if you have a Ping sensor that monitors the availability of your router, you can set a dependency for all devices that are behind that router, so that they get paused when the Ping sensor is Down. You can set the dependencies per device, or you can also set them on a group level so the entire group gets paused.
