[Question] Can I monitor SQL Server Agent Jobs and alert if running long?

Votes:

Hello,

We recently came across an issue we would like to alert on with PRTG. Is it possible to monitor SQL Server Agent Jobs and send an alert/notification if they are running longer than a baseline or maybe a defined time? For example, this job historically has run anywhere from 9-12 minutes. This job failed recently and ran in excess of an hour and eventually failed.

Does PRTG have a built in sensor for monitor SQL Server Agent Jobs? How can we implement a sensor to send alerts on this?

Thanks!

Hello there,

By default there is nothing implemented to PRTG yet. You would need to integrate you own custom script.

Our Custom Script Advanced Sensor might be fitting here.
