We have over 80 servers (aka devices). Each one of them have specific sensors and general sensors. Instead of adding a device and each sensors to every device, can we create a template where we can add some devices and it will inherited the sensor inside this template?

group sub template

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

Regarding your question, I'm afraid it is not possible to explicitly bind a template to devices. However, you have the possibility to configure an auto-discovery group to apply a template on specific devices, based on a list/IP range or AD computers.

Here is the manual regarding auto-discovery: https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/add_an_auto-discovery_group

Then, for example you can have a structure which looks like the one below:

  • Main group
    • Auto-Discovery group (Template A)
    • Auto-Discovery group (Template B)

If you have questions, let us know.

Regards.
