HPE MSA2040 sl0 Traffic error

Hello community,

we have monitored the HPE MSA 2040 in the PRTG. The sensor Sl0 Traffic changes from time to time to errors (@intraffic=No such instance (SNMP error # 223)). A cause could not be found. The HPE support checked the log files and could not find anything either. Can someone tell me what exactly this sensor is monitoring? What exactly does this sl0 traffic sensor measure?

Hi Florian,

The error message No such instance (SNMP error # 223) message is directly related to changing SNMP Indexes. This means that the data contained in the SNMP Agent of the device was "re-ordered" and PRTG is no longer able to identify the data it was originally monitoring. The message No such instance is the reply of the device when PRTG asks for the OID that it was monitoring until now and the device tells PRTG that "this address is not valid/nonexistent".

Kind regards
