Hi,

Is it possible to monitor vlan traffic on a Watchguard M400 firewall with PRTG? Or even better if you could in PRTG monitor traffic like the "Service watch" tab in Watchguard WSM?

firewall vlan watchguard

Hello there,

The VLANs are most likely not implemented in the counters for regular interfaces for the IFX-MIB PRTG is using. You can test that by adding an SNMP Traffic Sensor to check if they are visible.

Next to this, you can check if there is a vendor specific MIB file available. You can then follow this guide to see if the WatchGuard provides such counters via SNMP at all: http://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/65638

Finally, monitoring the traffic via flow protocols is an option as well. You can find more information for this topic here. Netflow v0 or IPfix provide the VLAN IDs as filter.

Kind regards,

Thank you. I will try these options and see if any of them works for me.
