How to display an octet string value in the channel - without clicking on the device link

Hello,

My challenge is the following. Among meny other broadcasting equipment, we have a bunch of professional satellite receivers. One of the monitored properties is the "Service Name" that displays the name of the TV channel the unit is tuned to. This "Service Name" is an octet string type and returns an alphanumeric text string. I know that PRTG by default does not display string values in the channel, that's why I'd like to know if there's any way of acieving this.

Thank you, Attila

Hello,

Yes, if you use the SNMP Custom String sensor, it will display the string in the message field of the sensor. This is what will show in the text of the sensor like in the screenshot you have included. It should work how you want it to do.
