Connection error vs Sensor status

Hi everyone,

is it possible to set the sensors with any sort of connection problems (wmi auth, snmp string etc) in to warning state status rather than error state status?

The background is that we have integretet our ServiceDesk system with PRTG and this tickets relatet to connection erros are a kind of false flags for our technical teams. In that way, tickets would only be generatet when a real problem ocurs.

Thanks in advance Muri

Hello Muri,

Thank you for your message.

Regarding what you would like to achieve, I'm afraid that it is not possible to change the behavior of the sensor in cas of failing request.

Nevertheless, you have the possibility to configure the sensors to change to Down state after x scanning interval, allowing you to avoid some alerts. To do so, open the Scanning interval section from the root/group/device/sensor settings tab and then configure the option If a Sensor Query Fails to "Set sensor to warning for 5 interval, then set to down".

Regards.
