PRTG giving false alarm for Synology NAS devices

Hi Everyone, I keep on getting fake alarms for my synology NAS devices (65 devices are configured) on PRTG, i do not understand where exactly the problem is ? Earlier Synology was running on DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 2 , on this version we had no issue. Last few months ago we upgraded NAS OS to DSM 7.0-41890 and alerts keep coming.. I tried one of the devices deleting and adding it again in PRTG, however it keeps sending alerts (Fake). Please advise.. Upon checking PRTG log option i see this lines, can you please help where should i look further to fix the problem, thanks.

No response (check: firewall, routing, snmp settings of device, Is, SNMP version, community, passwords etc) (SNMP error # -2003)

Hi,

The error -2003 indicates a general connection problem with the target server. This means that PRTG didn't receive a respond from the target device. If you are in doubt that PRTG should be able to display data from the device, you can check with our SNMP Tester the raw data. The issue could be related to network issues or to your device which is not responding well. Maybe you will need to check also with Synology.

Kind regards

HI, Thanks for your reply. SNMP Tester gives similar result, I started tester & ping to the target device but do not find any latency or RTO, do not understand where can i read logs. Any idea ?

Hi,

The logs of the SNMP Tester shows the same error message. This indicates that PRTG can't reach your device via SNMP. You will need to check if PRTG can reach your target device and/or it is allowed to pull this data.

Kind regards
