Monitor Traffic of each Cisco Access Point

Votes:

Hi everyone,

we have 12 Cisco Access Points and a Cisco WLC Controller. SNMP is enabled on the WLC and I can already access it on PRTG.

I would like to see the up- and download speed and total traffic of each access point in PRTG. How can I implement this?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi there,

Did you already used this article to monitor your WLC device: https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/75561-how-can-i-monitor-a-cisco-wlc-deployment-with-prtg

Please let me know whether the up- download speed is visible in the WLC? If so, did you already checked whether a corresponding MIB file is available.

Hi Moritz, thank you for your feedback. Yes, I did. I was able to add the AP's with the auto discovery and I can see the information as from your Link (Controller Statistics, SSID Statistics and each AP listet with its on/offline status).

In my WLC Admin-Center I see the usage of each AP and how many clients are connected to each AP. I would like to see that also in PRTG, but I did not find a corresponding MIB file.

This should be also covered. Please check whether your device supports the OID https://www.circitor.fr/Mibs/Html/C/CISCO-LWAPP-SYS-MIB.php#clsSysApConnectCount
