Moving a part of an installation to a different server

Hi,

Is it possible to move a part of all the probes to a different server, for example by exporting the configuration of the sensors? We have two different situations where we could use this: - we first test our systems in the lab and would like to move them afterwards to the production server - more and more clients want air gapped solutions. This means we can't use the remote probe anymore and have to install a PRTG instance at the customer. In this case we would like to export everything under the remote probe.

Is this possible in an easy way?

Kind regards,

Wim Vinckier.

Hello,

Yes, it is possible to do this, but only the configuration will move. We cannot move the collected sensor data. This can be done with the PRTG Desktop Client. If you click on Extras, there is the Probe Transfer Preview option. It will guide you on everything you need to do to move a remote probe from one core server to another core server. Both will need to be connected to the PRTG Desktop Client for this operation, but after the transfer it's not required.
