One Core Server, over 200 VMs

Hi,

we are currently running our PRTG Instance on one Core and multiple Probes and are trying to Monitor 200+ VMs via VSphere. The VM Sensor states not to use more than 50 Sensors of this type which obviously would be a Problem for us. The Sensor contains multiple Channels which are redundant for us so I'm trying to figure out what would be the best solution.

My Idea was to either create a Custom Sensor Running SOAP but asking for less Data and thus less channels or send requests via a REST Sensor instead.

What would be the best Solution in your Gusy Opinion?

rest soap vmware

Hello dear customer

We recommend that you use no more than 50 sensors of this sensor type on each probe.

I will also recommend you to increased the scanning interval for at least 10 mins

Regards
