Convert a local probe to a remote probe

We are creating a new local probe to migrate our monitoring to a new domain/subnet. Is there a way to convert the local probe to a remote probe connecting to the new local probe in a different domain/subnet?

migrate probe remote

Hello Phillip,

Thank you for the KB post.

I'm afraid that there is no solution to simply convert a Core server(Local probe) to a remote probe, as all the objects (sensors/devices/groups, etc.)are stored inside the configuration file of the server and can't be extracted.

You should need to remove the PRTG core server from the system (after you migrated it), and then install a new remote probe on that system. You can then move the devices from the Local Probe (of your new server which will still have the same devices) to the new Remote Probe.

Thank you

Regards,
