Monitoring of VRTX CMC

Hi

I'm trying to configure a sensor for the VRTX CMC global status. When I create a sensor with the MIBS imported, it's going to make a lookup and giving me a string as return like "ok" or "critical", but it never turns down (red), because I can't define a string as a min/max value.

On the other hand, I tried to make a SNMP Custom String Lookup. After I configured absolutely the same as defined in the the SNMP Library with the MIBS packet for VRTX CMC, it returns me the value "3". What am I doing wrong? How can I define this monitoring, that it turns down, when the value "critical" is returned.

Thanks for your help. KR aademi

Hello aademi,

this looks like a job for lookups as the OID is reporting an int value with different meanings.
We have our Howto for lookups available here.
