Manually triggering a notification by Router interface

Kindly any one can advise ,please ? I would like to simulate manual router down or router interface down alert, so that time I can able to know about alert message info based on received alert mail received with what type of description alert and message. Then I can edit it according to my requirements. Thank you.

Hi there,

There are a lot of different reasons why an interface can be considered as being down:

  • Any channel limit got exceeded
  • The connection to the router does not work on network level
  • The SNMP authentication fails
  • A generic SNMP error occurs

You can start by right-cklicking the sensor to set it to Simulate Error. You can then check if this information is enough for you. Otherwise, you need to force some errors as mentioned above.
