Can I customize the Syslog sensor Message?

Votes:

0

Currently when I get warnings from Syslog sensor, it says stuff like (in German, but English version is proably similar):

< 0,01 #/Sek. (Warnungen) liegt über dem Grenzwert für Warnungen von < 0,01 #/Sek. in Warnungen — < 0,01 #/Sek. (Fehler) liegt über dem Fehlergrenzwert von < 0,01 #/Sek. in Fehler

i.e. no information about the content of warnings or the first few words of the actuall warning, or the host the syslog messages originated from.

Can this be made more useful by e.g. getting the first 80 bytes of the most recent message, or the originating host or similar?

Sorry if this is a newbie/obvious question, but I did not understand how to do this.

At the moment the syslog receiver sensor doesnt have a way to manipulate the message that it receives. You can only apply filters so you can only get certain messages on the sensor but not to display the message differently.
