This article applies as of PRTG 23

How do I avoid getting an error when editing more than one device in PRTG?

If your PRTG instance is running PRTG 23.4.91 or earlier, you might encounter the following error when you use multi-edit to change the settings of more than one device:

Meraki Dashboard API Endpoint: Required field, not defined.

This error is due to how the Meraki endpoint used to be stored in PRTG. The bug has been resolved as of PRTG 23.4.91 and we recommend that you update your PRTG core server to the most recent version. If you cannot update your PRTG instance to the latest version, follow the steps below for a workaround:

  1. Navigate to Devices | Device List in PRTG.
  2. Select the check boxes next to the devices you want to edit.
  3. On the right-hand side, click the Settings icon in the blue menu to open the multi-edit window.
  4. Scroll down to Inherit Credentials for Cisco Meraki.
  5. Toggle the inheritance to make sure credentials are not inherited.
  6. Select the checkbox for Meraki Dashboard API Endpoint and enter api.meraki.com.
  7. Click OK to save.

You should be able to successfully use multi-edit to edit your devices now.
