How do I troubleshoot a http request via a proxy connection in PRTG 8?

Votes:

0

After configuring a set of sensors on a machine outside the proxy I transferred the settings using the PRTG Configuration.dat file. The in built sensors are all working fine. Confirming that the correct configuration file is being used. I updated the proxy settings in the device to allow access via the proxy. Restarted the PRTG server.

However the sensors are still not connecting.

How can I troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks

Hello,

troubleshooting this is not very easy. Which exact errors do you see on the sensors? Do you have sensors working that use the same Proxy-Settings? If yes, are there any differences?

Best Regards.

All the sensors are http sensors and no external site sensors are working. I can confirm other local sensors but not external sensors which need to use the proxy settings.

Thanks

Then it really seems to be the proxy-settings. Please also check that the PRTG Probe is set to use the correct IP for outgoing monitoring requests in the "PRTG Probe Administation Tool".
