We keep receiving DNS down alerts for a single Mac mini device on a network, and it's unclear why. Could you advise on a direction?

A connection reset by peer usually happens because of:

  • the DNS service on the remote host is shut down
  • a firewall/IPS in between the Monitoring Server and the remote host is sending a reject for the connection
