Remote probes, MIB's and device templates

I have a distributed deployment with remote probes. I want to scan a Fortigate firewall on my remote site using my remote probe. I've configured the firewall to suit and proved I can talk to it using the SNMPTest utility.

AutoDiscovery or Autodiscovery using the Fortigate custom template fail.

Do I need to do anything special (like manually copying the snmplibs or devicetemplates files??) or does this all happen automatically somehow?

Cheers

Hello there,

Are you referring to this article regarding the device template and affiliated files? The regarding files only need to be placed at the PRTG Server, not on the remote probes. When all is fine and you run an auto-discovery with the according template, it should create sensors. Have you verified if you can add manually a sensor like "SNMP Uptime" for example in PRTG to the device?

Kind regards,

Erhard
