Monitor Dell PowerEdge Servers via SNMP

Hi

I have a number of new Dell PowerEdge servers and I would like to setup PRTG to monitor servers for any hardware problems. Monitoring servers through SNMP looks to be working (SNMP Library > Dell systems management instrumentation.oidlib) but when adding new sensor there seems to be over 1000 items available to select. I’m having hard time figuring out which items to select to monitor hard disk, power supply, fans etc.

Rather than finding and adding multiple items can I just add item “system state global system status” and this would give me feedback of overall status of Dell PowerEdge system?

hallo,

please send a request to [email protected]

we do have an OID library that will create sensors for fans disks, raid status.

I extracted that OID library from the main Dell MIBs using our free MIB importer.

But Dell OpenManage is required on the servers to make the counters available.

The next version of PRTG will include these library and libraries for other vendors out of the box.
