We are deploying many Images with a pre-installed remote probe. This cause by nature some problems because every remote probe has the same GID. Because I don't want to change them manually (Edit GID...) I'm looking for a solution to get a new GID randomly generated. Any Ideas?

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. Please see the solution in the following KB-Article: Probe GID deletion for creating a system image for distribution. I hope this helps.

best regards.

Hi Torsten,

thanks for the quick reply! Seems that your Link has worked. I've experienced that deleting both values (Id and GId) from the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\Probe) was necessary to get a new GID.

Thanks a lot!
