Can you re-order or remove columns in sensor lists displayed in maps?

we're trying to make some NOC maps that have an sensor alarm list similar to the first one in the default Dashboard 3. However we are running into two problems when we select the "alarms" sensor table under "lists of sensors". This table is too long to fit on our NOC displays confortable. Because of this we have to make the table shorter (in the horizontal) than it would be naturally. Unfortunately, this means that the "probe->group->device" column does not show up on the map. Unfortunately this is one of the core pieces of data we want on this display. How can we do one of the three following things: remove columns; resize columns; reorder columns?

maps prtg sensor-list tables

This article applies to PRTG Network Monitor 13.2.3 or later, as well as partly to previous (deprecated) versions

Reordering and Removing Columns and Sensor Lists in PRTG Maps

Dear Jim,

you could try editing the according htm-file in the following subfolder (as of PRTG version 13.2.3 or later):

\PRTG Network Monitor\webroot\mapobjects

For example the file tableA0.htm (List of Sensors: Alarms). Please try to edit the following:

columns="downtimesince,sensor,status,message,lastvalue,minigraph,priority,favorite,probegroupdevice"

This however will only re-order columns (and eventually remove some), the sizing should be done by the browser according to the layout of the map.

Please note: These changes will be overwritten when you install a PRTG update.

Does this help?

Note: For PRTG version 7 through 12 the path is:

\PRTG Network Monitor\website\mapobjects

Best Regards.

Hello I am using 12.3.1.2420. Can i create custom data tables with only the columns i need - i would want to customize "down sensors" but rather than edit the existing one, i would duplicate it and edit my duplicate.

And then whre in the HTML can i customize font size?

thanks.

The recommendation actually is to copy an existing htm-file of a map object, rename the file and also the map-object name in the file and edit this duplicate them, so it won't be overwritten with the next update.
To change the font please see How can I re-brand and customize the PRTG web interface using CSS?.
