Monitor PostgreSQL process on Linux?

Votes:

0

Hi,

I would like to monitor a PostgreSQL server running on CentOS Linux. From what I understood so far the ADO SQL Sensor will work only with a Windows device - is that correct? If not, please point me to the documentation on how to achieve that.

Thanks.

Hi,

there are three options:

1.) Use the ADO SQL sensor with the psqlODBC driver

https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/35023-password-for-ado-sql-connectionstring

ODBC Driver: http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/odbc/versions/

2.) Write a script sensor

You can use the many examples out there and adjust it to PRTG style (see the API guide)

https://www.google.com/?q=postgresql+monitoring+script

3.) PostgreSQL sensor

https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/postgresql_sensor

Apparently, this sensor does not exist anymore in the latest release !?!

The PostgreSQL-Sensor will be available in stable builds as of version 14.x.12. Currently it's only available in Preview-Builds (which is why there is a manual chapter for it already). Please bear with us.
