Throttle Notifications

Is it possible to limit the amount of notifications sent by PRTG during a period of time? We have had a number of occasions where WMI will fail on a host that may have 12 WMI sensors and because the parent sensor for ping is still up we get SMS notifications for all of those failed sensors. Any ideas?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, there is no such throttle function for notifications. You could try to update to the most recent version (if it is slightly older) as we have fixed a lot of issues regarding WMI. This might prevent this issue from happening again.

that would be a handy option, because otherwise the SMS Gateway could get DOS'd which could be an operational risk.
