User Story
For a long time my colleagues have been requesting the ability to have predictive warnings and errors.
Details of User Story
When monitoring disk usage, we've setup a warning when it's below 5% and error when it's below 2,5%. This gives a broad way of monitoring disk usage. However, when disks are large, such as multiple terabytes, percentage warnings and errors makes no sense.
Then we have to start thinking about at how much GB we want the sensor to go into warning and how much for errors. Now this doesn't make any sense either.
We want PRTG to being able to predict based on X days when this disk will run out of space. This way we'll be able to configure the sensor to go into Warning when there is 7 days until it runs out of space (based on statistics) and go into error state when there is 2 days left.
The above prediction should still be included if only % or X amount of GB limits are used. For instance: Free disk space is below the warning limit of 5% (Approximately 5 days until 0%).
