User Story

As a PRTG User, I want PRTG to allow alerting when values fall 1 or 2 standard deviations from the mean.

Details of User Story

In other software the way I've seen this implemented is that you had the following settings:

Multiplier: 2 Timeframe: 10 minutes Type: Increase/Decrease/Both

For example if a systems CPU us normally an average of 20% x 2 (multipler) = 40%.

Thus if CPU hits 40% (its doubled) in 10 minutes, then fire off an alert.

This allows for alerting to rapid increases or decreases in values which could warrant investigation.

Acceptance criteria

  • Criterion #1 In addition to having a state or threshold notification trigger. I'd like to be able to define a "deviation trigger" where I can be alerted if values double, triple, quadruple in x timeframe. Where x is configurable.
