User Story

As a PRTG User, I want to be able to monitor certificates. this is a wildly elusive task for reasons I don't understand. there are Powershell tools available that can do this both locally and remotely and yet no one seems to have a way to check the machine local certificate store.

Details of User Story

i'm looking for a sensor that can monitor specifically the certificate expiration date on certificates that are in the machine local certificate store. the way the current SSL certificates work, things like Oath certs on lync and exchange cannot be monitored because they're not available directly through a URL

Acceptance criteria

  • Check MS ADCS for certificates issued and track specific certificates and expiration dates
  • Check local computer certifiat stores and track all certificates expiration dates This basically gives us a set of cornerstones that need to be there in order for the feature to be implemented.

This is also something I am looking for. I don't want to have to install IIS on every server in order to query on port 443 for the certificate security and expiration.
