How do I restore previous historical data?

Hello Support, we did a server upgrade to windows 2016 from 2012 R2 and have installed prtg version V20.1.56.1547. We have recoved the config or the PRTG Configuration.dat file which is good but the historical data is gone. Can this be recovered from backups? Thanks and regards, John Joyce

Hi John,

You can copy the historic data from your old to your new PRTG core server. Details are explained in our migration guide. In your case you can start with "Step 2".

Please note, that the PRTG Auto-Backups only include the configuration file. But you can recover the PRTG data from your own system backups.

Kind regards,
