User Story
Our company has many small remote sites with VPN tunnels connecting them. When the VPN tunnel goes down, but all other services are OK, PRTG is still monitoring, but we have no visibility into this site until after the fact.
We would love if PRTG was able to send email alerts from the remote probes themselves if they become disconnected.
Details of User Story
For example, the VPN tunnels goes down from HQ where PRTG is installed to sites 2, 3 and 4. The remote sites all have the remote probes.
1. The VPN tunnels are down, however, the rest of the services are online and actively being monitored by the probe. Even though we are fully monitored and the only service down is VPN, we still have no visibility into what is happening at the sites.
2. Monitoring data being available after the fact is actually not very useful to us except in vary particular circumstances, which do not arise very often.
Acceptance criteria
Allow probes to send email alerts when: 1. They lose access to the primary PRTG installation 2. They still have internet 3a. The administrator has configured a backup/Internet based SMTP/Email for sending over the internet (or) 3b. The administrator has opted for the built in SMTP server
