remote probe server died and need to recreate probe

DO you have a probe recovery how to?

our remote probe VM died - we can get to the files but have had to recreate the server from scratch - and reinstall the remote probe...

Is it possible to copy over the files from the old probe and replace the files on the new probe after the probe is reinstalled (while the PRTBG Probe Service) is stopped

and restore the probe this way? or is there a best practice for resurrecting my probe?

Hello,

You could create a new probe from scratch, and move the sensors to the new probe. But you'd lose the historic data. In order to keep historic data, you may be able to follow this Probe Migration guide But you need to copy the GID from the Administration tool of that probe, and if the system is broken you may not be able to access.
