We are in the process of implementing PRTG EM for Tata Motors with infrastructure spread globally. Bulk of the installation is spread across in India in a single timezone. However, some infrastructure such as production servers are placed overseas in Coventry (UK), South Africa and Indonesia. The devices to be monitored at these locations are less tha 10. All the three l PRTG core servers are in India.
Alerts get time stamped with corresponding core server setting. Given the number of devices at remote time zone it is uneconomical to place core PRTG servers there.
While PRTG core time settings can be used by default, in large infra spread across time zones it helps to haev time zone setting at group level so that that the local geogrhical location directed emails carry local time stamp.
