What template to use for auto-discovery in old Motorola routers (e.g. Vanguard 340, 6435)

Hello all,

I want to monitor through SNMP some old Motorola routers and I am wondering if there is an auto-discovery template (like Cisco Generic) for Motorola devices.

If not, I would appreciate some suggestions about what sensors to add manually or what OIDs to use for custom SNMP sensors.

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

We do not have any device templates for monitoring Motorola devices. You could check if there are any available MIBs for your devices.

It there are available MIBs, you can create OIDlib files from them and import them into PRTG using our MIB Importer. You could then use the SNMP Library sensor to monitor the available metrics on your device. For more information on how to use the MIB Importer and the SNMP Library sensor, please see this KB article, and our tutorial video.
