User story

As a PRTG user, I want to be able to add a CPU sensor split by the physical socket.

Details of user story

Servers are using a huge number of CPUs by socket, and when we monitor the CPU load with the CPU sensor we have a useless graph. In our case, we have a server with 8 sockets and 48 CPUs by socket, which is a graph with 384 lines together, it's unreadable. We managed that adding 8 sensors and hiding the data for the rest of the CPUs. But it could be useful and user friendly having the possibility to add the CPU sensor specifying by the socket.

Acceptance criteria

  • Criterion #1
  • Criterion #2 This basically gives us a set of cornerstones that need to be there in order for the feature to be implemented.
