User story

As a PRTG user, I want ... Massively save memory with averages by time. With many sensors, the required memory space explodes. Often minute sensor data are only needed for maybe 2 days and after that the storage of average values is completely sufficient.

There are already settings for the graphs here. Unfortunately, this does not reduce the memory space in the background as with other monitoring systems. All data is still stored, only the graph is changed.

Thanks a lot

Details of user story

Enter the details of your request here. Make sure it's as detailed as possible, depending on the complexity.

We would like to have a possibility to transfer the graph settings also to the storage space. Accordingly after set time only the storage of the desired average values.

This can massively save memory space. We want to continue to see mean values for a year, but what happened every minute 6 months ago is actually no longer of interest to anyone.

Acceptance criteria

  • Criterion #1
  • Criterion #2 This basically gives us a set of cornerstones that need to be there in order for the feature to be implemented.
