Consider adding a deeper level of logic that would allow a user/group a more limited access. Example:
- Joe, the department manager needs to be able to pause devices. He knows there is going to be a power outage overnight.
- Joe also knows that a vendor is coming on-site next Monday to do preventative maintenance. Let Joe setup a one-time maintenance window.
- Joe should not be able to otherwise alter the device tree.
This example is a realistic example of a co-managed environment where both IT and end-users share in the monitoring effort. This concept applies to all industries.
