I found a bunch of articles but none really convinced me on the right way to do this, some for old versions others from other operating systems.

How can i create a CSR for "monitoring.domain.com" from a Windows 10 installation with the latest PRTG?

It will run on port 4343 not on 443.

Thank you for the reply.

Did go through the links already and can't really figure out how to generate the CSR to get the initial certificate.

Have a Win 10 installation, with PRTG, and i need to generate a CSR to get a certificate in the first place.

Do i need to do this from the Win10 Machine? Can i use other computer for this? The domain is not yet used, it will be a certificate only for this purpose, so no wildcard.

Or would i need to follow this procedure then?

Although i will not use GoDaddy it should work i presume.

Hello and thank you for your reply.

Yes, that should work. PRTG can't generate the CSR, you'll need to use openssl or similar tools, as suggested by that guide. The only "prerequisite" is that the CN matches the URL that will show up in your browser when you access PRTG from other computers in your network.

Theoretically this can be done on any system, as long as you're able to re-use the certificate on PRTG's server later.

Best Regards,
